Hardware Hacker – Cyber Security (Italy)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience with hardware security analysis and penetration testing.
- Proficiency in hardware debugging tools, including JTAG, UART, SPI, and I2C interfaces.
- Strong understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures.
- Experience in reverse engineering firmware and binary analysis.
- Knowledge of cryptographic principles and their implementation in hardware.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C, Python, or assembly for low-level development.
- Understanding of hardware protocols and interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB, BLE, Wi-Fi).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-depth hardware security assessments, including reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis.
- Perform firmware extraction, analysis, and tampering to uncover potential vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement tools for hardware testing, including the use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Work on side-channel attacks, fault injections, and other advanced hardware-based exploitation techniques.
- Prototype and test hardware for research or penetration testing purposes.
- Document findings and create detailed technical reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and techniques in hardware hacking and cyber security.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications such as OSCP, or equivalent.
- Experience with FPGAs, PCB design, or hardware emulation tools.
- Practical knowledge of side-channel attacks.
- Experience in working with IoT and embedded devices in a security context.
- Published research or active participation in hardware security conferences.
